-Recently in the house there has been a vote to heavily increase sanctions against Iran and Tehran and blacklisting its Revolutionary Group as a terrorist organization.

What that means is we are going to monitor money going to Iran and their nuclear program. The US will be "depriving Iran of proceeds from energy sales which could be diverted into funding its nuclear program." This loss of revenue for Iran is going to slow down their nuclear program quite heavily.

This also stops anyone involved with the Revolutionary Group from giving money that could support the group.

Another way to curb their program is by stopping Iranian imports by using the Iran Counterproliferation Act. By not importing their resources, they lose funding, and the chance of Iran producing a nuclear weapon decreases greatly.

We have also blacklisted their fifth largest bank because they have been affiliated with funding weapons for proliferation.

-What I learned from this article is that the United States are taking great measures to restrict proliferation in Iran. I now see how ready America is to fight Iran and do whatever it must to halt their proliferation and production of enriched uranium and nuclear weapons. This is very important because this is one of the largest measures we have taken to try and stop nuclear proliferation. Sanctions on their economy will greatly slow down any production and progress they are making.

-I could not be happier with the article. It is staying on top of one of the most pressing issues against our nation. The thought of a country that is almost completely anti-American is an extremely terrifying idea. The fact that the House put together legislation and passed it that limits funding to Iran is a huge step for our war on terror. What we can do is continue to follow any news dealing with the war on terror or any other counterproliferation attempts. This can educate all of us on what is happening in the middle east and what needs to be done.
